This is a Motorola HT-200 "Handi-Talkie" portable VHF radio that was introduced by Motorola in the latter 50's. It was often used by ambulance services during the 60's until it was replaced by the Motorola HT-220 which was somewhat smaller.

I did Buy Two HT200 Vhf Radio's, and one one them was from the Navy. One Radio's was a Two Watt Vhf one Channel Radio and I added a 2nd Channel. I used both of for the RCC-9 Channel here in Monterey County California and The Salinas Valley Radio Telephone had a Repeater on Mount Toro. With the Two Watt Radio I can get over 40 Miles of Range from San Ardo to this Side of San Jose, but some times I had to get on the roof of the car or truck to hit the Repeater, but the Radio worked very well and the battery did last the whole day before recharging it.
