Valerie DeFrance Valerie DeFrance v.defrance(at sign)att.net

Valerie DeFrance,NREMTP, MICP, ASEMS, is a founding member of the Hope Sunrise EMS Service (AK) and has served as its Chief and Training Officer since its inception in 1984. Beginning as a First Responder, today Ms. DeFrance is a NREMTP, Alaska MICP and Paramedic Course Coordinator.

DeFrance received the Braun/Zoll 2007 Paramedic of the Year award, the 2007 Alaska EMS Administrator of the Year award, is a two-time recipient of the "Alaska First Lady" award for volunteerism and received the 'Graduate of the Year' award after completing her degree in EMS. She has been instructing in EMS since 1989 and has authored numerous educational articles, manuals and contributed to texts and other educational materials.

Valerie gives conference lectures and has served on numerous boards, commissions and task forces over the years.

She currently serves as Publisher of one of the the top EMS news site in the nation - EMS Network News- a free, online news site specific to the EMS community, (www.emsnetwork.org) and operates one of the Top Ten EMS Websites, EMS House [of DeFrance] (www.defrance.org)

Valerie designed and implemented the EMS Museums' first website and Virtual Museum, as well as serving as the first Virtual Museum Director. The Museum is indebted to Valerie for her enormous contribution of time and talent to this project.
